BARBARA KRUGER AND WOLFGANG TILLMANS • MOMA MUSEUM

MoMA doubly great day! Barbara Kruger & Wolfgang Tillmans

We’ll explore two amazing exhibits running concurrently at MoMA…. Barbara Kruger: Thinking of You. I mean Me. I mean You. and Wolfgang Tillmans: To Look Without Fear. Using bold and concise language Barbara Kruger has created a textual installation about truth, belief and power. She touches on identity, desire, consumerism, and social relationships all done provocatively but overplayed with humor.

Photographer Wolfgang Tillmans suggests “the viewer should enter my work through their own eyes, and their own lives.” For over three decades, Tillmans has created engaging photographs of nearly every genre and considers the role of the artist to be that of “an amplifier” of social and political causes. What a day this will be …. Full of thought provoking images and messages.

Katz has sought to capture visual experience in the present tense and stated in 1961 that “eternity exists in minutes of absolute awareness.” The artist collaborated closely on this exhibit which will fill the Frank Lloyd Wright rotunda at the Guggenheim in the city he lived and worked his entire life.
